Charming cottage style house for rent walking distance to downtown Red Lodge. Enjoy all that Red Lodge has to offer from this convenient location.
This house is located across the street from Finn Park. You can sit on the front stoop and hear the Rock Creek which is a few hundred feet from the front door.
If you ski or snow board you can be sitting on the Triple Chair at Red Lodge Mountain within 25 minutes. There are several hiking/biking/Xcountry skiing trails within 10-30 minutes and the start of the scenic Beartooth Highway is a short 20 minute drive. The north east entrance to Yellow Stone National Park is 2.5 hours away. Billings MT and Cody WY are both 1 hour away.
The main floor of the home is 830ish sq feet with a gas blower furnace which keeps the main floor warm in the cold winter months. You can supplement with space heaters or electric blankets on the coldest of winter days. In the summer time keep the windows open as there is no AC. The main living space is an open concept with the kitchen and living room making up the bulk of the main floor. The bathroom, bedroom, mud room and sunroom are all off of this wide open space.
The kitchen comes equipped with an electric stove/oven and a refrigerator. There is ample under counter storage as well as exposed shelving above the counter. There is no dishwasher.
The bathroom has a vanity, toilet and tiled stand-up shower. The water heater has been moved from the crawl space to the bathroom which is a bit of an eye sore but you get used to it. There is also an additional heating unit in the bathroom which is really nice on those cold winter days as it keeps you toasty warm when you exit the shower. There is no bathtub.
The bedroom has a small closet which is typical in these old mountain homes. Additional storage is upstairs or in the detached storage shed.
The upstairs is a carpeted/finished 330 sq ft of unconditioned space with knee high walls (converted attic). There is no heat or AC upstairs so the temp swings can be extreme depending on the weather. Its suitable for some storage, work out space guest space etc. but we would not recommend this space as permanent sleeping quarters due to the fact there is not Heat/AC upstairs.
There is a 16 x 12 storage shed in the back yard for all your gear/equipment.
The yard is not fenced and is approximately 100 ft x 50 ft.
The Rock Creek Laundry mat is 0.5 miles away and is open 7 days a week there is no in house laundry.
If youre an animal lover pets are welcome depending on the breed. We also have endless amounts of deer and turkey that pass through the yard with the occasional moose/bear sighting in the yard as well.
You wan walk to the Rodeo in 10 minutes, walk to any of the down town restaurants, shops, grocery store or bars in 5-10 minutes. Or walk across the street and take a dip or listen to the beautiful Rock Creek rushing by while you read a book on the bench. Or set up your hammock if you have one!!!
