We have owned the building for about 20 years during which time I have totally remodeled almost everything, including most of the apartments, all of the common areas including the basement, etc. There have been very substantial upgrades for seismic safety, restoration of beautiful original plaster molding, restoration of hardwood floors in the entry, new lighting, etc. The lobby of the building is stunning, with beautiful plaster molding (gold highlights), hardwood floors, an attractive paint scheme and new lighting. At the upper level lobbies I added additional plaster molding to extend the design theme of the lobby higher into the building.
The particular apartment for rent is a corner unit on the fourth floor. It has a nice kitchen, with gas range, microwave, and refrigerator. The bathroom has very beautiful Spanish tile which extends to the ceiling. There is a large wall mirror. All of the plumbing has been upgraded with new drains and copper water supply pipes. All of the fixtures in the bathroom are new. There are three closets. I would say it is medium in size – with a separate kitchen but no separate dining area. It has three closets.
The unit has new LVT flooring (looks great), has double glazed new windows and updated lighting. Wiring in the unit has been substantially upgraded to include lots of electric plugs. The telephone and cable wiring is also new. There is a voice control intercom to the front door of the building.
I have installed a new laundry in the basement which has two new Speed Queen washers and dryers. The basement is quite an attractive part of the building, unlike most others in San Francisco.
