Description
1620 Lanny Lane - A Legendary Cabin
Originally built in 1955, this historical home was designed by internationally-renowned architect legend Henrik Bull for his dear friend Peter Klaussen. This home was featured in the Sunset Magazine in 1958 for its innovative prow design and catapulted modern architecture in the Sierra Mountains. Henrik Bull was commissioned as advisory architect in 2013 to rebuild this legendary cabin.
Henrik Bull's cabin is today modernized and expanded with his landmark prow design and simplistic sophistication to float among the trees and blend effortlessly with the mountains. The original cabin of 24 foot by 24 foot is preserved to its original design with windows from floor-to-ceiling with panoramic views of KT22 and Red Dog ski runs. The cabin has three floors, parking spaces for up to four cars in the garage, 5 full bedrooms and 4 full baths with two powder rooms, a library, and a nostalgic entry wrapped with salvaged 100-year old redwood leading to a separate two-floor private guest wing.
This home includes magnificent 20-foot ceilings with extra height doors and windows abound. Original great room has a floor-to-ceiling fireplace and sliding doors that open directly to an indoor-outdoor venue for seating, dining, and a step-down terraced hot-tub. Amidst the mountains with towering trees from since the 1960 Olympics, this modern home is awash in high tech smart home amenities to include Nest, Ring doorbell, and ADT security infrastructure.
Grandiose Chef's kitchen with Italian waterfall marble countertop, Franke stainless steel sink, Miele electric range top with 6-place settings, along with pristine white Miele coffee maker, Miele combo microwave oven, and Hansgrohe oversized kitchen fixtures.
Living room is an open floor plan floating 20-feet above street level among the towering trees, with almost each suite with its private ensuite full bathroom. Master bedroom walls wrapped with 100-year old coveted old-growth redwood planks salvaged from original 1955 home. Master bathroom is adorned with a soaking tub and supremely-sized shower with Hansgrohe and Toto fixtures throughout all the bathrooms.
This legendary home is within a five-minute walking distance from The Village at Palisades Tahoe for ski team families, for friends and family for Village music and holiday festivals, and for easy close access to Palisades Ski resort (formerly Squaw Valley) to the coffee shops, restaurants, and ski shops. The Mountaineer Shuttle is a complimentary service that runs all through winter and ski team season to provide door-to-door transportation to and from the cabin directly to multiple locations at the ski resort doorstep.
