Seeking a responsible adult, couple or small family for a mid-term rental of our Annapolis home. Possibility to rent either the top two floors of the house (this listing) or add the ground floor (a separate guest suite with its own kitchen, laundry and office) for an additional fee.
Our oasis is tucked away on a beautiful residential street yet 7 minutes away from restaurants, coffee shops and all that Annapolis has to offer. 10 minutes from the coast, 15 minutes from USNA, 30 minutes from Baltimore and 35 minutes from DC.
The space:
A spacious kitchen, living room, dining room, additional cosy fire room, three bedrooms, laundry and 3 separate bathrooms (one on each side of the house and another on the main floor next to the office). One bedroom has been converted to an office (the second office in the house). Complete with high speed wifi, smart locks and smart lighting, security surveillance, hardwood floors and a private office space next to the second bedroom for remote work surrounded by nature. Pets welcome with an additional $100/month fee for wear and tear.
The hood:
Our home is on a safe quiet street lined with beautiful trees. Our extended neighborhood has coffeeshops, a movie theater, a True Food Kitchen, Trader Joes, Home Depot, Whole Foods and (most importantly) a kitty cafe all within a ten minute drive.
Other things to note:
Weve installed a reverse osmosis water filter for the purest water available (98/99 tap score! vs. ~75 for city water) as well as Hepa H13 HVAC filters, plants throughout the suite and two portable air purifiers to help spruce up your air quality during these extraordinary times.
The entire top two floors (including master bedroom, guest bedroom, three bathrooms, kitchen, dining and living rooms, library, office/bedroom and laundry) will be available to the right couple or small family for the price of $3999. The entire house is available for $4999 during the winter months. For the guest bedroom alone + your separate at-home office space, not including the main bedroom (allowing the owner to use the storage space while traveling), $3,299 per month. The right tenants will take priority over dates & price points.
Tenants are expected to help maintain the upkeep of the house. Sometimes this means being present to welcome cleaners/repair people to keep everything running, but could extend to gardening/leaf blowing in exchange for a discount on the rent. The ideal renters care about our home and garden, love plants and identify as environmentalists (or at least folks who can handle composting).
The catch:
We keep our monthly costs low by renting out the fully furnished basement as a short term rental (search Annapolis Garden Suite to find it on that famous short term rental site). The in-law suite (aka our basement) is fully separated from the rest of the house by a staircase, door with a deadbolt lock and soundproofing on both sides. The guests have two separate entrances and wont be in the main house at all. Tenants can help oversee turnovers in exchange for a discount on the rent.
Plentiful parking provided. References mandatory and checked. Renters insurance required (check Lemonade, our old policy was only $1/day).
