Description
Large sunny, private, upstairs room
One very large (11X16) sunny, private, upstairs room in a three bedroom house, shared with me -- 54 years old, queer, genderqueer Jewish, Russian -- and my small dog. You can pay $1050 rent or you can agree to do some additional, basic, regular cleaning in exchange for $100/month off the rent, bringing the rent to $950 (ask me about the details).
Every housemate relationship evolves organically in its own way, but I would strongly prefer to have a household where we don't just pass like ships in the night, but act in a more neighborly way, maybe share occasional meals, talk, etc.
I take COVID-19 seriously and so must you if you choose to live here. Must show proof of vaccination and be up on your booster shots and take other precautions as appropritae.
THE ROOM:
Best room in the house with six windows and a walk-in closet. Room is located up a flight of stairs, with nothing around it but a high-up view of the neighborhood. Lots of privacy.
THE AMENITIES:
- Shared kitchen and bathroom with me (the owner of the house) and my small dog.
- There is a small back yard, which is often overgrown with weeds, but if you are an enterprising gardener, you are welcome to make something of it.
- Washer / dryer and extra storage room in the basement.
- Water, garbage and internet included; there is a flat $40/month for electricity and the rest of PG&E is split between the two of us.
- 62 and 14 buses stop across the street. The 62 takes you to Fruitvale BART in about 5 minutes. (During COVID-19 I would prefer that you avoid riding public transit, but we can talk about this.)
- Street parking only.
- Living room is mostly not shared (ask me for details).
SO, YOU HAVE PETS?
Pets are negotiable with pet references and vaccinations (ask me about the fine print).
SOME OTHER STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW
-There is a $1350 security deposit.
-No smoking in or around the house, so if you're a smoker it's probably not a good match.
-Visitors okay (but COVID-19 vaccinated and boosted only), though I reserve the right to veto someone I'm not comfortable with. Overnight visitors limited to 1 visitor no more than 2/week. All exceptions negotiated with me.
