THE HOUSE: Built 1891, this totally updated Victorian-style house has a fenced-in landscaped back yard with mature trees, covered porch with rockers, and 400 sq ft sundeck with umbrella table, chaise, chairs and large charcoal grill.

HISTORY: Aster House has been renting by owner since 1891 and under present owners since 1982. We've had tenants stay 9 years and return for 18 years-- in fact, most are referrals or repeats!

NEIGHBORHOOD:The Aster House is on a quiet residential tree-lined street in Lincoln Park, which many consider Chicago's most desirable downtown neighborhood. In fact, Google gave our 'hood a 96% walk score! Please note that the close proximity to our neighbors necessitates that our tenants be quietly respectful, so we do not accept guests who plan to party here.

ATTRACTIONS:

~Within 1/2 to 2 blocks are restaurants, cafes, pizzerias, indie coffee shops, Whole Foods, sports bars, fine and resale shops, a park with free tennis courts and playground, theatres, art galleries, free museums, diverse music venues, the post office, public library, dry cleaners, barbers, hair n nail salons, a late-hours CVS pharmacy, DePaul University.

~ Within 2 - 11 blocks are several health clubs inc. Chicago's largest, 2 multi-screen movie houses, theatres, 2 comedy clubs, several Starbucks, Lincoln Park, pocket parks, the lake/Fullerton beach with its 18-mile biking/running path, 2 farmers' markets May 1 -Oct 31, the year-round free city zoo and botanical gardens, and necessities e.g. banks, hospitals, Best Buy, Target, Trader Joe, and shops including TJ Maxx, Anthropologie, Barnes & Noble, REI etc. Wrigley Field is 11 blocks up the street.

TRANSPORTATION:We're at a transportation hub! It's 1 block from the Fullerton subway/el station (Red, Brown, Purple lines). There also are 4 buses, 2 city bicycle rental stations, and Uber/Lyft rides mostly answer within a few minutes. The Metra line stops at Armitage/Clybourn. We are 1 mile from both Lakeshore Drive and Routes 90/94 for easy vehicle access.

PARKING: A vehicle is not necessary here -- but if you have one with you, street parking is easy and we'll explain local parking rules. When available, a spot in the 2-car garage shared with your landlord for $225/month.

MISCELLANEOUS: The house is strictly NON-SMOKING, though ashtrays are provided on the porch and sundeck. And so sorry, but no animals.
