One Kalakaua is a senior care condominium. Tenants must be 55 years of age or older to live in the building. The tenants pay for the maintenance fees which include numerous services to assist the specific needs of senior living. Currently the services include one meal a day with the option for breakfest; weekly cleaning of linens and the bathroom; access to skilled nursing; electric; water; sewer; and Cable. Internet must be purchased separately. This building was very smart when designing their maintenance fees to keep costs lower than other senior care facilities.
The staff know the residents and their families by name and are so friendly they feel like family. We have found them to be detail oriented with a focus on safety.
The common areas include a heated pool, whirlpool, exercise room, patio/deck, private yard, recreation room, restaurant, trash chute, craft room, library, salon, entertainment room, pool table, movie view area, computers, .
The unit is also five minutes away from Waikiki Beach, Ala Moana Shopping Center, Diamond Head and the Ala Wai Golf Course.
