Description

Rooms in Coliving Home off N Mississippi! - COMMUNITY LIVING IN PORTLAND

The Village is a unique shared housing community in NE Portland. It’s like Hogwarts, but with a Scandinavian design. It consists of 26 community members across four separate houses – Royal House, Waddle House, Pickle House, and Whiskey House – each with its own unique culture and traditions. Despite living in different houses, people can often be found hanging out together in the courtyard, sharing dinner, or coming together for events. In the history of the village there’s been a run club, muay thai club, as well as weekly community dinners.

Waddle House, Pickle House, and Whiskey House are all newly built 7 bed, 7 bath homes designed for coliving. Royal is a 5 bed, 3 bath house that was built in the 1900s, but renovated to be the common house at the Village. It includes a huge community kitchen, dining room, and living room. The community also shares an indoor bike room, laundry room with 3 washers/3 dryers, and a gorgeous outdoor courtyard that includes a covered fire pit, picnic area, and cozy outdoor amphitheater.

BOISE-ELIOT NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDE

The Village is located in the Boise-Eliot neighborhood, known as one of Portland’s most unique and popular places to live. The neighborhood is a historically black neighborhood with a rich culture and history. It’s known for two major Portland destinations: Williams Ave & Mississippi Ave. Both streets are known for their unique personality that are defined by the small local restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops that line their streets.

The Village is one block from Mississippi Ave and near many Portland favorites including Blue Star Donuts, ¿Por Qué No?, Mississippi Pizza Pub, The Rambler, 1905 Jazz Lounge, Mississippi Studios, StormBreaker Brewing, Ecliptic Brewing, and the ReBuilding Center. It’s in a great location for commuting to downtown Portland and near other popular neighborhoods like the the Alberta Arts District and Irvington. It’s also near the Overlook Park MAX Station which connects you to the rest of Portland.

FOUNDING MEMBERS STATEMENT

“We believe that community can empower people to live a happy and meaningful life. And we’re passionate about passionate people. We help each other grow, particularly in our ways of being and communicating with others. More concretely, we prepare and eat meals together as a way to share in physical and emotional nourishment. We also make time to celebrate and incorporate actions that honor our values into everyday life. Whether newcomers to Portland or longtime residents, we seek to share in the exploration and connection with the city and all that it offers.”
