This unit is on the northwestern corner of the building and gets a great deal of afternoon light. The apartment has beautiful hardwood floors, a large living room, a large detached bathroom, dining area, kitchen and several closets including a large walk in closet. It is truly a cross between a studio and a 1 bedroom unit. However, there is NO detached bedroom which is why it is called a Jr 1 Bedroom. The bathroom entrance has a small "vanity" sitting area.
The unit was painted this year with an eye towards maintaining its original design and charm, including 2 original circa 1930s chandeliers. Some Former tenants have used the dining area off the kitchen as a bedroom, although the walk in closet is large enough to fit at least a full sized bed. There are 6 units per floor (6 X 3=18) and there is an elevator. The 31 Balboa stop is right at the corner a few hundred feet from the building.
This is a VERY quiet building where privacy is respected although there is a strong sense of community. Landlord pays for heat (radiator), hot water, & garbage. Tenant(s) pay only for his/her/their own gas and electricity. There is NO in-building laundry on the premises but laundry facilities are just 2 blocks away. We also have excellent laundry pickup/delivery referrals.
Move in Cost= 1st Months rent + 1.5 Months rent security deposit. One year lease required; preference given to those who intend to stay longer. Wonderfully convenient to the beautifully landscaped Lone Mountain Campus, this gem has been owned by the same family since it was built in 1935 and has been well maintained with an eye towards preserving original fixtures.
