Description
Family-Style Shared Living, Collaborative Events, and Personal Growth on Mississippi Ave - The happiest people on this planet are those with a deep sense of connection and belonging. As humans, we're naturally fulfilled by close relationships with other people, but our modern society has made these relationships hard to find. Whether it's because you work from home, are new to the area, or haven't had time to make friends, many people desire more connection in their lives.
?
Family-style shared living offers a lifestyle designed for people who want to invest in better relationships, who are dedicated to growth, and who value being part of a chosen family. Imagine sitting around a big table and laughing together as you share a home-cooked dinner with your community, or singing songs together around a campfire at a spontaneous camping trip, or being cheered on as you share your creative gifts at a community open mic night. These moments make life rich, and they happen every week in community.
?
The Village is a family-style shared living community designed by OpenDoor Coliving. It’s a 26 person community with 4 different homes connected by a shared outdoor courtyard. Community members rent private bedrooms and share beautiful common spaces. Although each home has its own kitchen, the biggest home serves as the common house where everyone shares an expansive community kitchen, indoor bike storage, and cozy living room. However, the most loved space at The Village is the covered outdoor fire pit where people gather for storytelling nights, impromptu fashion shows/dance parties, and watch movies from a projector.
?
OpenDoor Coliving helps build strong community culture through community outreach, community development coaching, and personal development workshops. Since 2014, OpenDoor Coliving has created 13 communities across the Bay Area and Portland with over 300 members and a waiting list of 2,500 people in the Bay Area. They have been featured in Fast Company, NPR, and The Guardian.
