Description
Bugby's Place is a graduate/professional "semi-cooperative" near the Commons, with eight bedrooms and four bathrooms. New in 2019, there are some returning tenants and some openings for new tenants. The rooms are all different, but most are big, with large sunny windows. They are all furnished with queen beds, desks, chairs, dressers, lamps, bookcases. Windows have blackout curtains so you can sleep late if you want. Your own individually-controlled high-efficiency, super-quiet Mitsubishi mini-split HVAC unit for temperature control summer and winter. Bathroom share with one other resident; bathroom includes two medicine cabinets, 38" shower, plenty of linen storage.
The house is on the National Register and was renovated over 2017-2019 with all new plumbing, electricity, insulation, HVAC/central air, full sprinkler system. All electric high-efficiency heat pumps; no fossil fuels. Gourmet kitchen has an induction stove and other high-end appliances including two extra-large refrigerators and two sinks. Small table in kitchen and separate large dining room with dry bar. 65" ultra-high-def tv and electric fireplace in the living room. Residents keep a neat house and are a mix of graduate students and working people. There are two kitties in the house. Limited off-street parking but there may be a space open.
This co-op shares a private fenced-in backyard and patio with the new carriage house at the back of the lot, which is a separate 6-bedroom co-op. Covered, lockable bike storage. Extremely convenient bus stop just around the corner, and a short walk to the main bus hub. Tenants are currently installing a large raised-bed garden in the enclosed backyard area.
The house is semi-cooperative, with opportunities to be social and independent. (For example, tenants may host occasional board game nights or dinner parties.) There is always the option to socialize or cook with other housemates, but no obligation.
Most of the rooms are $670 including high-speed internet and all utilities. There are two smaller rooms that rent for $600 and $650. (Photos show one of the small bedrooms.) Contact info is for the lead tenant, who can give you a skype tour of the house.
