Transportation
With most shops and restaurants centrally located on University Avenue and 30th Street, walking remains one of the most popular transportation options. Bike lanes and routes on the main thoroughfares are increasing as the neighborhood progresses and make bike riding a safe and popular way to get around. If you prefer public transit, there are many bus routes and it is easy to connect to the trolley lines as well. The neighborhood is very centrally located with several Interstate and state highways, including Interstates 805, 15, 8, and 5, and highways 163, 94, and 15 nearby.

At Parkside Market on Thorn Street you can find items like gluten-free pastas, bread, and craft beer. Santos Farmers Market on Lincoln Avenue has fresh fruit salads and salsas, along with ethics foods and produce. North Park also hosts a farmers market every Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of the CVS on North Park Way. Minutes away from North Park to the west, toward the Hillcrest area, are the extremely popular Trader Joe's, Sprout's and Whole Foods.
Parks and Beaches
The neighborhood boasts Bird Park, North Park Community Park, and Morley Field. Morley Field has open grassy areas to play Frisbee, football, or just bask in the Sun.
