Description
Have you ever lived in a house with a bomb shelter? Now’s your chance. Nothing cookie cutter about it!
Our fully furnished house is available from August 1st through the end of September. It is in south Lyons, a fabulous little town with all kinds of happenings in the spring and summer…..music, festivals, and fairs, tubing, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, and fishing. We are across the street from the Bohn Park path along the river with all that the park has to offer…..botanical garden, picnicking, skateboard park, dog park, dirt bike park, playground, lovely walking path and plenty of access for a dip in the river. Laverne Johnson Park is a couple of blocks to the north for tubing the river, fabulous playground, and picnicking.
There are 3 Open Space parks in the Lyons area: Hall Ranch, Heil Ranch, and Rabbit Mountain. The first two are about 2 miles away, and the third is about 4 miles. The cycling in this area is fantastic and you can easily choose between heading to the plains or into the mountains right from the house. Paddling may be found in McIntosh Lake (free and about 5 miles away) Union Reservoir (15 miles), or Carter Lake (20 miles)
So, it’s a fun area, but what about the house you ask?
Built in the mid 1950’s, the house comes furnished. It’s a 2 BR, 2 BA house on two floors, each with a living area and kitchen facilities. Upstairs has 1 BR, full kitchen, comfortable living room, full bath, yoga room, and deck accessed from the kitchen or bedroom. Downstairs has 1 BR with attached bomb shelter that has been remade into a closet, comfortable living area, full bath, and kitchenette. It also has the shared washer and dryer.
Both spaces are full of light. The fenced yard has vines growing for privacy and trees for shade. Driveway and carport are available, and on street parking is easy to come by.
The house is in a super friendly neighborhood, and is a 5 min stroll to downtown.
All utilities and wifi are included. We just ask that you are mindful of living in a drought-stricken area and that you conserve as you are able.
If you have a Canine American with you, we would like to meet them prior to making a decision. Cats will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.…. unfortunately, we’ve had some bad experiences in the past to want to be cautious.
