About this House:
Cozy, well lit, entire house (mostly) in one of the quietest neighborhood in NE DC. All amenities including a Gig-speed internet and an office space/separate room to work from. Our house is a 17mins drive from US Capitol building, Union station, and downtown DC. We’re in the middle of two Metro stations each 15mins walk (0.9 miles) from us. There are also numerous rideshares, car rental, bike / E-bike-share, E-scooties, electric moped scooters, grocery and food delivery, alcohol delivery…you name it-DC has it.
We have two guest rooms, one has a queen bed and the other has a day bed that opens up to become a king sized bed. Both rooms have an office corner with table and chair and it’s at your discretion however you want to use the rooms (as an office or to sleep in). We have one full bath upstairs where the rooms are and half bath on the ground floor. A full kitchen, outdoor seating with gas grill and fire pit.
This is a listing for an entire place except for the master bedroom. You'll have the house all to yourself 95% of the time, and share it with us 5% of the time when we will be returning home in between our travels for a few days (of course the days will be decided before hand, and we will cross that bridge.. way before we get there).
The reason for such low daily/monthly rate is that we are asking you to take care of our lovely dog while you are staying at our place. We are looking for an empathetic, caring, dog loving person. We're travelling and can't take our dog with us, so looking for a dog and plants lover…OK maybe not a plant "lover" but you just have to water them once a week. The dog's needs are at least 15-30 mins walks, twice a day, putting food in his bowl and a lots of love and attention so that he doesn't miss us when were gone.
We tried a house-sitting website for our first trip and had a bad experience. The woman who was supposed to house-sit, texted and cancelled the morning of, while we were getting ready to leave. Luckily, one of our angel neighbors helped us out with our dog situation and we were saved. This is why, we decided to post an add here and see if this can work with all parties having some skin in the game and this seems like a win-win situation for everyone.
So you can say for the low rate, we're asking you to take care of our dog, plants and house while we are traveling. Consider the low price a heavily discounted price or a source of income as if you were to pay between $1600 to $2000/month for accommodation, we’re charging wayy less than half, $20/day or $600/month. The price is even less than that of private rooms. If we consider $2000 (as what you would’ve paid) minus $600, that’s $1400 in your pocket!
We will prefer offers for staying the entire duration, a few days prior or after the renting window can be accommodated as well. 
We will NOT accept any requests in advance as we feel the need to talk/meet to gauge if we will be the right fit for each other's needs. 
Also, we've also posted this listing on Airbnb and VRBO as well. We've used those platforms before frequently so are relatively more comfortable with their verification process and setup, and may finalize our bookings there. As you can imagine leaving a house and a lovely dog is not an easy task so we would like to know you better before committing to anything. 
About our dog, Joey:
He is a very smart and a loving dog. He's 28lbs a small healthy dog, almost 4 years old and still has some of his puppy energy. He LOVES human attention and will make sure to come to you to take his share of petting and love. While he is an active dog when he wants to be, he's also getting lazier as he's getting older so after he's done playing and eating, you'd mostly find him taking naps most of the day. I think all city dogs sleep more than 15 hours on an average day.
About plants:
Indoor plants require one watering every two weeks.
Most outdoor plants are on auto-timer/drip irrigation that we request you to check is working every few days. Other than that, just take the mail out of the mailbox whenever you see it and most importantly, enjoy your stay. That’s all!
