Description
$1,300 - 1BD in Shared 3BD Townhouse with Private Bath (utilities incl) Near Metro
I'm looking for a professional or academic to rent one bedroom in my townhouse adjacent to the West Hyattsville metro station. You would have your own private bath and lots of common space to share. Rent is $1300 per month, which includes electric, gas, water, trash, wifi, and a monthly housecleaner. Lease term is one year, which is an HOA requirement. The room is available for May 1 move-in, but the exact date is negotiable.
The townhouse is 2071 sq feet and has four levels, which includes a garage and third bedroom and full bath on the 1st level (which I use as a flex space -- it won't be for another housemate). The other floors have the kitchen and dining area, two extra half-bathrooms, a balcony, and a terrace. There are lots of stairs, so this might not be an ideal rental for someone with mobility issues.
The townhouse is next to West Hyattsville metro station (green/yellow line), 20 or 30 minutes to downtown DC by car or train. It's 5 minutes driving or a 30-minute walk to the Prince Georges Plaza Mall. Nearby is a Giant grocery store, Home Depot, Glut Coop, Vigilante coffee and many other stores and restaurants. It's also right next to the NW Branch Trail, which connects you in to miles and miles of bike trails as part of the Anacostia Tributary Trail System.
There's plenty of available street parking, or ask me about the extra rental cost to use the garage.
I'm a woman in my mid-40s. I'm a researcher at a think tank in DC, and I go in to the office one or two days a week. I keep a typical 9 to 5 schedule most days, sleep around 11 and rise around 7. I enjoy biking, yoga, hiking, and running. I enjoy cooking, mostly pescatarian. I do not smoke, and I drink socially.
I'm looking for someone who is easygoing, a good communicator, and has similar living preferences to mine -- meaning that you're relatively clean and on top of clutter, but not a neat freak. No smokers, please. This is an LGBTQIA friendly home. Having a housemate I can share the occasional meal and catch up on each others' days with, but still have lots of space to ourselves is my ideal setup.
I like animals, and will consider a well-behaved small dog, cat, or similar low-maintenance pet with additional pet rent of $25 per month.
